There were 1,256 students enrolled in Mary Persons High School during 2022-23 school year in Monroe County

Mary Persons High School had the highest enrollment among Monroe County schools, welcoming 1,256 students during the 2022-23 school year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51% of them were male, and 49% were female.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 68% of the Mary Persons High School total enrollment.

Among the five schools in Monroe County, Monroe County Middle School- Banks Stephens Campus ranked second in enrollment numbers with 1,015 students, while T.G. Scott Elementary School welcomed 738 students to be ranked third in the 2022-23 school year.

Mary Persons High School is part of Monroe County School District, which generally encompasses schools within Monroe County, with its main office in Forsyth.

In the previous school year, Mary Persons High School also had the highest number of students among Monroe County schools.

As of 2024, Georgia has an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:15, which is better than the national average of 1:16. The state has its best student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1 in pre-kindergarten and middle school grades, while high school has an average ratio of 17:1.
