Graduates earn 115 degrees, certificates from Helms College

About 87 percent of the 115 degrees and certificates handed out by Helms College in 2017-18 were to students in personal and culinary services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Macon conferred 63 certificates and 37 associate's degrees in personal and culinary services programs.

But the single most popular program was for a certificate in culinary arts/chef training. Data shows the school gave out 63 certificates in culinary arts/chef training, followed by 37 associate's degrees in culinary arts/chef training and 9 certificates in medical/clinical assistant.

The college enrolled 304 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
