Cost of college went down for all students at Helms College

Tuition and fees fell 21.2 percent for 2018-19 at Helms College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Georgia students paid $13,460 to attend the two-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $3,612 less than the $17,072 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 95 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 49 students received grants or scholarships totaling $217,840 and 52 students took out student loans totaling more than $374,720.

Including all undergraduates (304), 143 students used grants or scholarships totaling $558,272, and 176 students took out $1 million in federal student loans.
