Cost of college went up for all students at Mercer University

Tuition and fees rose 2.5 percent for 2018-19 at Mercer University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Georgia students paid $36,894 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $894 more than the $36,000 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 886 students received grants or scholarships totaling $26.3 million and 603 students took out student loans totaling more than $4.6 million.

Including all undergraduates (8,740), 4,337 students used grants or scholarships totaling $96.4 million, and 3,080 students took out $15.9 million in federal student loans.
