Atrium Health Navicent Healthy Communities plans health screening events in Fort Valley and Milledgeville this spring. The screenings are designed to provide valuable insights into personal health metrics, such as blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, weight, and waist measurement, to highlight areas where improvements may be needed.

Dr. Gorby Leon from Atrium Health Navicent emphasizes the importance of understanding these health indicators. "If it’s important to you to live a long, healthy life, then knowing your numbers is the first step," he stated. Leon warns that having elevated levels in any of these areas can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. He advises individuals to take preventative action by attending the screening events.

Organized by Atrium Health Navicent Healthy Communities, the screenings are scheduled for Saturday, April 12, at Festival Park in Fort Valley and Saturday, May 17, at Walter B. Williams Park in Milledgeville. Both events run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., require no appointments, and are free.

Atrium Health Navicent, a prominent provider in central and south Georgia, is part of Advocate Health. Advocate Health is a large nonprofit health system formed by the merger of Advocate Aurora Health and Atrium Health. It operates under different brand names in various states, including Atrium Health in Georgia. Advocate Health is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, and is committed to innovative care, research, and educational programs.
