Deputies Arrest Suspect in Connection with Commercial Burglaries

On March 22nd, 2023, just before 5:00p.m., a suspect was arrested in connection with two Commercial Burglaries.

Through the course of the investigation into several commercial burglaries, Investigators identified 35-year-old Jeremy Allen Mclaurin as the suspect. Mclaurin was located at the intersection of Columbus Road and Brentwood Avenue. Mclaurin was spotted by investigators as he was entering a convenience store, where he was later apprehended by deputies.

According to investigators, on November 24th, 2022, at 12:28p.m., deputies were requested at Stephen’s Fashions located at 2639 Montpelier Avenue. It was reported that the business had been burglarized overnight. The business’s front window was discovered shattered and over $2,000.00 in clothing was stolen from the business.

On March 21st, 2023, at 1:38a.m., deputies responded to Metro PCS located at 3253 Mercer University Drive in reference to a burglar alarm. Upon arrival deputies discovered the front window was shattered. A rock was found inside. Upon reviewing video surveillance, a male suspect was observed entering the business. The suspect went to the stock room where he took up to $500.00 of merchandise in a bin and escaped through the back door.

Jeremy Allen McLaurin was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center where he was charged with two counts of 2nd Degree Burglary, Probation Violation, and Parole Violation. Mclaurin faces pending charges in several other commercial burglary cases.
