Road Work

The Monroe County Road Department is urging motorists to avoid Jenkins Road if possible beginning Monday, March 13 while it repairs aging cross drains on the road.

The cross drain repairs will begin on the end of Jenkins Road closest to Rumble Road and will proceed northbound toward Hwy. 18. The entire project is expected to take about a week to complete.

Some Jenkins Road residents may have to access Jenkins Road via Hwy. 18 or Lee King Road rather than Rumble Road while cross drain repairs are taking place.

The work is being done in preparation of the resurfacing of Jenkins Road via Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG) funds later this year.
