Atrium Health Navicent’s employee giving program, Healthcare Employees Achieving Tomorrow (H.E.A.T.), has awarded 22 grants to health care charities and programs totaling $198,089.
The grant funds directly impact central Georgia communities though the provision of scholarships, food and mentorship for children, mental health prescription assistance, wheelchair ramps, cancer survivorship services, health care support, dental care, home fire relief and more.
“Atrium Health Navicent employees know the tremendous amount of work we do each day to positively impact the lives of our patients and their families. Their participation in H.E.A.T. is an extension of this great work and allows us to support other organizations in central Georgia who are working to improve the health of our communities,” said Navicent Health Foundation President Ellen Johnson.

"Thanks to the generous support of the H.E.A.T. grant from Navicent Health Foundation, The Society of St. Andrew will continue to address local food insecurity and health equity in low-income communities, serving Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) communities,” said The Society of St. Andrew Georgia Regional Director Angela Partain. “This grant will help us provide approximately 400,000 servings of farm-fresh fruits and vegetables to families receiving food assistance from local feeding agencies, food pantries, and food banks at no cost. We are grateful for their shared dedication."
The Society of St. Andrew is a partner in Atrium Health Navicent Healthy Communities’ Food as Medicine Market which provides healthy food and one-on-one nutrition education for individuals with a medical condition for which nutrition could affect their overall well-being.
H.E.A.T. was founded in 1992 by health system employees with a goal of funding projects and campaigns both within the health care system and in the community. Since inception, more than $9 million has been raised and distributed to health care charities and programs in central Georgia.
