The Georgia Association of Conservation Districts, along with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, the Georgia Soil & Water Conservation Commission and UGA Cooperative Extension, are presenting this workshop for the Ocmulgee River Conservation District. Workshop will provide information about the general practices and options on how to start an urban agriculture operation from soil testing to organic vs. nonorganic and government programs you can utilize. The event will feature a local farmer’s perspective on their urban agriculture operation and the programs they have used to help them be successful. This workshop will discuss general practices and options for starting an urban agriculture operation such as soil testing, raised beds, non-organic vs organic, and pollinators.
