Upson Regional Medical Center issued the following announcement on Dec. 16.

Congrats to the first URMC Sunflower Award recipient, Tonda Stone from our OB unit! The Sunflower Award recognizes and celebrates the extraordinary work of staff other than your doctors and nurses who care for you during your hospital visit. “Tonda always goes above and beyond the call of duty. She always makes sure patients have everything they need. She has even volunteered to work in ICU and Special Care during the COVID-19 pandemic,” stated a fellow employee who witnessed Tonda’s compassion. Congratulations, Tonda! Thanks for all you do!
