UPDATE: Fatal Traffic Collision on Emery Highway

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred on Emery Highway at Fort Hill Street. The collision was called into the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at 9:07 p.m. 

It was reported that a Pontiac G8 was traveling west, towards Macon, on Emery Highway. A Chevrolet Cruze was traveling east on Emery Highway at the same time. The driver of the Chevrolet Cruze attempted to make a left turn onto Fort Hill Street when the Chevrolet Cruze and Pontiac G8 collided. 

Both drivers were transported to the hospital. The driver of the Chevrolet, 72-year-old Lewis Moore, was pronounced deceased at the hospital. According to Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley, the next of kin has been notified. 

The driver of the Pontiac G8 is currently listed to be in stable condition.

Fatal Traffic Collision on Emery Highway

Both drivers were transported to the hospital. The driver of the Chevrolet was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The name of the deceased will not be released until the next of kin has been notified.

The driver of the Pontiac G8 is currently listed to be in stable condition.
