Suspect Arrested for Gun and Drug Charges

Bibb County Sheriff’s Special Response Team Deputies arrest an individual for gun and drugs after a brief pursuit. The incident occurred on October 20, 2022 at around 2:30p.m.

It was reported that a male driving a blue Porsche pulled out of the drive-thru at the McDonald’s, located at the intersection of Riverside Drive at Tom Hill Sr. Blvd. The driver almost hit several vehicles as he pulled away from the drive-thru. A Sheriff’s Response Team Deputy witnessed the incident and attempted to conduct a traffic stop with the Porsche. The driver of the Porsche lead the Special Response Team Deputy on a pursuit down Northside Drive and then down Forest Hill Road. The driver lost control of his vehicle. The driver wrecked in a curve on Forest Hill Road.  The driver was not injured during this incident.

The driver of the Porsche threw a handgun out of his window, during the pursuit. A citizen located the handgun and immediately contacted the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies also found Marijuana and a large amount of cash inside of the vehicle. 

The driver of the Porsche, 26-year-old Anthony Da’Wayne Morgan Jr., was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center for the charges of Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, Possession of Substances with the Intent to Use Manufacture Schedule I or Schedule II Controlled Substances, Aggressive Driving, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of or Attempt to Commit Certain Felonies, Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon. Morgan also has a hold for a Probation Violation -Felony. Morgan does not have a bond at this time.
