Stratford Academy issued the following announcement on Feb. 7. 

With the Eaglettes victory on Strong Rock on Friday evening, Coach Ed Smith captured his 600th career win. Coach Smith is in his 19th year as the Stratford girls head basketball coach. He served as Coach John Paul Gaddy’s assistant three seasons prior to that. Coach Smith won two GISA State Championships in 2004-05 and 2005-06 with back-to-back undefeated seasons. His teams were GISA State Runners-up in 2006-07, 2007-08, and 2013-14. Overall his Eaglettes have won eight region titles including five in the GHSA with public schools. Congratulations, Coach Smith on such as outstanding legacy.
