STRATFORD ACADEMY: Exciting News About the Walker Bethune Memorial Scholarship
0Comments

Stratford Academy issued the following announcement on Apr. 20.

Following the tragic loss of Walker Bethune last summer, his parents, David and Stacy, came to Stratford looking for a way to remember Walker in a long lasting and impactful manner. The creation of the Walker Bethune Memorial Scholarship became the vehicle for celebrating Walker’s life and all he achieved as a student at our school.

It is with immense joy Stratford announces the Walker Bethune Memorial Scholarship has reached the fully-endowed scholarship level. Going forward, each year’s recipient will receive a full-tuition scholarship for the upcoming school year. It also means the fund received over $250,000 in gifts from Walker’s family and friends, and even some strangers, and will exist in perpetuity within our school community.

This is a remarkable feat in honor of a remarkable young man. The first-ever Walker Bethune Memorial Scholarship will be awarded in May during the Stratford Upper School Honors Day program. On behalf of Stratford and the Bethune family, thank you for your generous gifts and your part in making this happen.
