Which Twiggs County school saw the biggest enrollment in 2022-23 school year?

Jeffersonville Elementary School had the highest enrollment among Twiggs County schools, welcoming 299 students during the 2022-23 school year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 53% of them were female, and 47% were male.

Data also showed that most of the students were Black, representing 67% of the Jeffersonville Elementary School total enrollment.

Among the three schools in Twiggs County, Twiggs County High School ranked second in enrollment numbers with 210 students, while Twiggs Middle School welcomed 183 students to be ranked third in the 2022-23 school year.

Jeffersonville Elementary School is part of Twiggs County School District, which generally encompasses schools within Twiggs County, with its main office in Jeffersonville.

In the previous school year, Jeffersonville Elementary School also had the highest number of students among Twiggs County schools.

As of 2024, Georgia has an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:15, which is better than the national average of 1:16. The state has its best student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1 in pre-kindergarten and middle school grades, while high school has an average ratio of 17:1.
