The Monroe County Board of Commissioners is seeking an intern to create a 15–20-minute video capturing the history of Monroe County from its early founding to current day. The video will also include the history of the Hubbard Alumni Association and its historical relevance in Monroe County throughout history. The final video should be of professional quality and tell the story of the county highlighting significant people, places, and events. The ideal candidate would be a high school senior or college student with some background knowledge of videography. Experience with creating a similar project would be a plus. Computer skills and experience with video editing software a must.
The video assignment is projected to begin in May and must be completed by the first of September. The county will pay up to $12.00 an hour at a maximum of 200 hours. The video is slated to be viewed throughout the Forsythia Festival in 2024. This project would be ideal for someone wanting to build their resume. Upcoming high school seniors are encouraged to apply. However, the student must take part in dual enrollment to qualify.

Internship Responsibilities:• Film videos on location as needed.• Research Monroe County and include relevant material in video project as warranted.• Periodically meet with team to discuss project plan and progress.• Edit footage utilizing video editing software.• Present final project to team in September and showcase video at Forsythia Festival – 2024.• Ability to work independently while establishing a time frame.
Internship Requirements:• Excellent computer literacy.• Proficiency with editing software such as Film Production Master, Adobe Create Cloud for Video or other editing software.• Excellent interpersonal skills.• Proficiency with equipment needed
