Arrest Made in Connection with Theft by Taking Auto Investigation

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two incidents of Theft by Taking Auto involving three stolen vehicles. 

On March 14th, 2023, at 7:37a.m., deputies responded to Cherokee Brick Company located at 3250 Waterville Road to investigate two vehicles reported stolen. During the investigation, the vehicles reported stolen were discovered nearby, in a heavy wooded area. Deputies also discovered a third vehicle, which was reported stolen on Monday at 7:03a.m. All three vehicles were stuck in the mud. While checking one of the stolen vehicles with tinted windows, deputies discovered a black male later identified as Eric Ivan Searcy-Bryson, 35-years-old, inside. He was asleep when deputies found him. The suspect was apprehended without incident. All vehicles were returned to their owners.

Eric Ivan Searcy-Bryson is currently in custody at the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center, facing three counts of Felony Theft by Taking Auto and Probation Violation.
