The Greater Macon Chamber joins our community in mourning the loss of Macon icon Mama Louise Hudson

The Greater Macon Chamber joins our community in mourning the loss of Macon icon Mama Louise Hudson. A pioneering business owner, she and H&H Soul Food Co-founder Mama Inez Hill launched an entire movement by simply being kind to their customers. Their generosity to the then-unknown Allman Brothers Band helped put Macon on the map, with H&H Restaurant being a must stop local destination for the fans. For these southern music followers, “you hadn’t been blessed until you ate from a plate at the H”. Any time you entered Mama Louise’s doors, there was a snapshot of our community breaking bread (cornbread or biscuits). One of Macon’s oldest independent restaurants, the H&H, is now operated by the Moonhanger Group, a Chamber member, who is paying careful tribute to the legacy of H&H, and where Mama Louise’s impact will continue long after her 93 years.
