Wesleyan College is proud to work with Georgia Military College (GMC) to make it easier for students to transfer their GMC credits to a degree program at Wesleyan. Wesleyan College President Meaghan Blight and Lieutenant General William B. Caldwell IV, USA (Ret), President of Georgia Military College formally signed the agreement at a ceremony at GMC’s Milledgeville campus last week.
Through the new “Bridge to Wesleyan Program,” selected students will have the opportunity to attend GMC for their first year in an established cohort that will be tracked, monitored and mentored to ensure success. That cohort will then have the opportunity to transfer to Wesleyan College to finish their college degree.
“At Wesleyan, we’re looking for that student who demonstrates potential as we work with them to build their confidence and competencies,” said President Blight. “Given GMC’s stellar reputation for producing young leaders, I have no doubt the women in this program will be skilled, valuable members of both of our communities.”
At the same ceremony, President Blight and Lieutenant General Caldwell also signed an agreement to facilitate the transfer for Associate degree course credits from GMC to Wesleyan’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. This is an important step in helping to train more nurses for work across Georgia and the United States.
