Wesleyan College Renovation Sale

We invite you to shop at the Candler Alumnae Center.

July 15 - 16  9am - 6pm

July 17  1:30pm - 5pm

Wesleyan College’s campus is among the most extensive and intact early-twentieth-century-planned campuses in all of Georgia. The original Georgian Revival-style buildings were completed in 1928, and as of 2004, the entire Wesleyan campus is listed in the National Register of Historic Places as the Wesleyan College Historic District. While some buildings have been updated during the last ninety-four years, others are in need of some fairly major renovations, in particular the Candler Alumnae Center.

The Candler building originally served as the College library and was renovated in 1971 to become the Alumnae Center. It houses the offices of alumnae affairs and institutional advancement, Oval Hall, and the Benson Room.

In order to prepare for the renovation and to make room for work crews, the College will host a Renovation Sale to sell common items that have accumulated over the years such as office furniture, chairs, and decorative pieces. All proceeds will be applied to the cost of renovation.

According to Senior Vice President for Advancement Andrea Williford, “We have worked closely with our librarian and archivist to preserve the Wesleyan Treasures that have been housed in the Candler building and are now part of the archival collection in the library. We are not selling items that should be preserved for historical reference and study.”

The public is invited to shop at the Candler Alumnae Center on July 15 - 16 from 9am - 6pm and July 17 from 1:30pm - 5pm.
