Atrium Health Navicent issued the following announcement on Mar. 24.
Revised masking policy goes into effect March 30, 2022
As a COVID-19 precaution, Atrium Health Navicent continues to require teammates to wear surgical masks for all in-person interactions with patients and for visitors in buildings where patient care is taking place.
Due to the decrease in local cases of COVID-19, masking will be optional in non-clinical buildings – locations where no patient health care is provided – beginning March 30, 2022. Masking requirements pertain to both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals.
Spaces where masking will be optional include:
• Atrium Health Navicent Wellness Center
• Navicent Health Foundation
• Atrium Health Navicent Human Resources
• Atrium Health Navicent business offices on Riverside Drive and in downtown Macon
• Atrium Health Navicent Peyton Anderson Health Education Center
Social distancing is also encouraged in buildings where patient care is provided. Masks must be worn if a person travels from a non-clinical building to a connected building where patient care is performed.
Individuals who are immunocompromised, who have not completed their COVID-19 vaccine series, and others may wear a mask, even in non-clinical spaces where masking is optional.
The health of our patients and the community is the highest concern at Atrium Health Navicent. Our policies and actions are designed to safeguard our community. We appreciate the community’s cooperation and understanding with our efforts to mitigate the threat of COVID-19.
