COUNTY OF BIBB: #BlightFight clears 75th blighted house

Blight

County of Bibb issued the following announcement on Nov. 19.

On Thursday, November 18, we reached a milestone in our Blight Fight, which is aimed to make our community safer and cleaner. The blighted and dangerous house at 4302 Ashland Drive is the 75th house down in our mission.

“This effort is allowing us to take major steps forward in improving our neighborhoods,” said District 7 Commissioner Bill Howell. “Nobody should have to live near structures like these, and I’m proud of our teams for working together to get them through the process and removed from the community.”

While this is a big step in our mission, we are nowhere near the end of our fight.

“Attacking blight has been a major focus since I became Mayor because our community told me during the transition that it was their priority, that it has a direct impact on public safety, on neighborhood pride, and so much more,” said Mayor Lester Miller.
