County of Bibb issued the following announcement on Aug. 3.
The Macon-Bibb County Board of Commissioners will vote to set the millage rate for Fiscal Year 2022 (August 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022) at a meeting on August 17, 2021. Mayor Lester Miller is recommending the new millage rate be set at 19.901, which is a decrease of 0.43 mills.
“I’m proud of the work done to build this year’s budget and proud of the growth in our community that is allowing us to decrease the millage rate,” says Mayor Lester Miller. “As we move forward this year, we will continue to watch expenditures and allocate resources to improve public safety, fight blight, clean up our streets, support our local businesses, and attract new industries.”
Commissioners will vote during the 6:00 p.m. regularly-scheduled Macon-Bibb County Commission Meeting at City Hall (700 Poplar Street).
