  • Georgia State Rep. Beth Camp (R-Concord)

    State Representative Beth Camp represents the citizens of House District 131, which includes portions of Pike, Lamar and Upson counties. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2020. Rep. Camp became a 911 dispatcher at 17 years old, and her interest in helping others led to her becoming a licensed emergency medical technician. Working closely with individuals in crisis while serving in public safety sparked her love of social sciences and volunteerism. She also earned an associate degree in science from Georgia Military College, a Bachelor of Science in Integrative Studies with a concentration in psychology from Clayton State University and a Master of Arts from the University of Alabama in communication studies. Rep. Camp is a licensed real estate broker in Georgia currently acting as a managing broker for Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty in Zebulon. She has been a licensed realtor since 2006 and holds the “Lifetime Multi-Million Dollar Realtor” achievement for her professional efforts. Rep. Camp is also a member of the Heart of Georgia Board of Realtors, serving as the 2020 vice president of community relations and the 2019-2020 chair of the local GARPAC Committee, promoting property owners’ rights. She serves on the board of directors for CASA Advo-Kids, a court-appointed special advocacy for children in foster care for Fayette, Pike, Spalding and Lamar Counties. She is a member of the Pike County FFA Alumni Board, Pike County Arts Council, Pike County Chamber of Commerce, Thomaston-Upson Chamber of Commerce and the Georgia Association of Realtors. She is a recipient of chapter and state Future Farmers of American (FFA) degrees for volunteer work in the organization, including fundraising to build a barn at a local high school for STEM classes. She has also been a Girl Scout leader, a delegate at the Georgia Republican Convention, secretary of the Georgia Lamb Producers Association and a volunteer for many local civic groups. From 2017-2020, Rep. Camp served as an elected member of the Pike County Board of Education. Rep. Camp is the daughter of Warren and Beverly Thompson of Rincon, Georgia. She met her husband of more than 25 years, Mark, when they were working as medics. Their daughter, Meredith, is a senior studying psychology and sociology at the University of Georgia in Athens. Rep. Camp and her family enjoy living in Concord on their cattle production farm with a miniature donkey, a confusion of guineas, several barn cats and a Jack Russell Terrier named Trixie.

  • Former Georgia State Sen. John Kennedy (R-Downtown)

    Senator John F. Kennedy w as first elected to the state Senate in 2014 to represent Crawford, Monroe, Peach and Upson counties as well as portions of Bibb and Houston counties. After serving as Governor Deal’s Floor Leader in the Senate during his freshman term, his Republican colleagues elected Senator Kennedy to serve as Caucus Chairman for the Senate Majority during the 2017-2018 legislative term. Senator Kennedy serves as Vice-Chairman of the Banking and Financial Services Committee, as well as serving as Secretary of Regulated Industries and Utilities Committee. He is also a member of the Appropriations, Judiciary, and Reapportionment and Redistricting Committees. He is an ex -officio member of the Rules Committee. Senator Kennedy earned a degree in Economics from Mercer University in 1987. He completed his law degree at Mercer University School of Law in 1990. Senator Kennedy is a Partner at the Macon-based law firm of James-Bates-Brannan-Groover, LLP, and practices in the area of civil litigation, trial work, business advice and fiduciary law. Senator Kennedy currently serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the Central Georgia Council and Boy Scouts of America. Senator Kennedy previously served as President of the Macon Bar Association and is a member of the Board of Governors for the State Bar of Georgia. Senator Kennedy is a Class of 2000 Graduate of Leadership Macon and a 2007 Graduate of Leadership Georgia. In 2013, Georgia’s Speaker of the House of Representatives David Ralston appointed Senator Kennedy to serve on the Immigration Enforcement Review Board. Senator Kennedy and his wife of 25 years, Susan, have two children, Katherine and Will. The Kennedy’s reside in Bolingbroke in Monroe County and are active members of Ingleside Baptist Church.
