North Gwinnett wins 2026 GHSA Riflery State Championship

North Gwinnett won the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Riflery State Championship on March 14 at the Ware County Shooting Complex. The team scored a total of 2,337 points in the three-position air rifle format, finishing ahead of Camden County with 2,328 points and Cartersville with 2,313 points.

The event also recognized individual achievements. Briana Dougherty from Camden County was named the individual winner. Remy Shin from North Gwinnett placed second, and JT Wright from Lumpkin County finished third.

Organizers thanked the Ware County Shooting Complex for hosting the championship. Dr. Kent Morrow served as meet director, and appreciation was extended to range officials, BPI volunteers, teams, and competitors for their roles in making the event successful.

The GHSA Riflery State Championship is an annual competition that brings together high school teams from across Georgia to compete in marksmanship skills. The three-position air rifle format tests participants’ abilities in different shooting positions.
