Reports from the Georgia Department of Education show that 18 multiracial students attended Crawford County Middle School in the 2024-25 school year, the same number as in the prior year.
For the 2024-25 school year, Crawford County Middle School reported a total enrollment of 362 students. Of these, multiracial students comprised 5% of the population, placing them among the smallest demographic groups at the school.
The school operates under the Crawford County School District, whose headquarters are in Roberta.
In the district’s three schools, Crawford County High School had the largest multiracial student enrollment in 2024-25 with 23 students.
The Georgia Department of Education’s Fiscal Year 2026-1 report stated that more than 1.7 million students were attending Georgia’s public schools. Elementary grades accounted for the greatest share with 787,206 students (45.9%), followed by 388,733 students in middle school (22.7%) and 539,092 in high school (31.4%).
According to the Georgia Department of Education, chronic absenteeism persists as a serious challenge for Georgia schools after the pandemic, with 20.7% of students missing at least 10% of school days in 2024. To address this, GaDOE introduced a statewide strategy featuring a real-time attendance dashboard, increased public education, and focused support for districts most in need to encourage regular attendance.
Georgia lawmakers enacted an update to attendance laws in 2025, prohibiting expulsion based solely on absenteeism. The new legislation also sets out additional reporting rules and supports diploma pathways through alternative programs.
By 2026, Georgia reported an average student-to-teacher ratio of around 14:1, surpassing the nationwide average of 15:1.
