In the 2024-25 school year, Jeffersonville Elementary School counted 110 white students in its enrollment, an increase of 0.9% from the prior year, Georgia Department of Education reports show.
The school reported a total enrollment of 315 students. White students represented 35% of that population, designating them as the second-largest demographic group in the building.
The campus is part of the Twiggs County School District, whose main office is located in Jeffersonville.
Out of the three schools in the Twiggs County School District, Jeffersonville Elementary recorded the highest number of white students enrolled during the 2024-25 school year at 110.
The National Center for Education Statistics shows public school students in Georgia were about 36.4% Black, 35.9% white, 18.1% Hispanic, 4% Asian, 4.6% multiracial, 0.2% American Indian or Alaska Native, and 0.1% Pacific Islander.
Post-pandemic chronic absenteeism continues to challenge Georgia schools, with 20.7% of students missing at least 10% of school days in 2024, the Georgia Department of Education said. In response, the department launched a statewide program featuring a real-time attendance dashboard, public awareness campaign, and targeted efforts in high-need districts to raise attendance rates.
Legislation passed in 2025 updated attendance policies and prohibits expulsion solely for absenteeism. Additional requirements now include new reporting mandates and alignment with diploma pathways providing alternative routes to graduation.
By 2026, Georgia’s average student-to-teacher ratio stood at about 14:1, an improvement compared to the national ratio of 15:1.
