Georgia Power has announced several initiatives aimed at helping residents manage energy costs and access community support services.

The company’s Energy Assistance Portal allows authorized agencies to view customer accounts and make pledges or payments on behalf of individuals receiving assistance. Georgia Power states that this system is designed to streamline the support process and ensure aid is delivered efficiently.

For households with moderate to low income, Georgia Power offers an Income Qualified Discount program, which provides up to $402 in annual savings on energy bills. The company says this initiative aims to reduce financial strain and help families maintain access to essential utilities.

Residents can also use the Community Assistance and Resource Tool, which enables users to search for local support services by ZIP code. This tool covers a range of needs, including food assistance, shelter, counseling, and help with rent and utilities.

To help customers better understand their energy usage, Georgia Power provides the My Power Usage platform. This service allows users to track their consumption patterns and make informed decisions about their energy habits.

“These resources reflect Georgia Power’s commitment to affordability, transparency, and community support,” according to the company.
