The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) held its 2026 Dance State Championships on February 11-12 at Akins Arena at the Classic Center in Athens. The event, presented by Rebel Athletics, recognized high school dance teams across several styles and classifications.

Teams competed in jazz, high kick, hip hop, and pom categories. Trophies were awarded based on both dance style and school classification. This year’s champions included Stephens County for 1A-6A High Kick; Denmark for 6A Hip Hop; Mill Creek for 6A Jazz; North Gwinnett for 6A Pom; Tri-Cities for 3A-5A Hip Hop; Starr’s Mill for both 3A-5A Jazz and Pom; Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe for 1A-2A Hip Hop; Thomasville for 1A-2A Jazz; and Ringgold for 1A-2A Pom.

In a statement of gratitude, the association said: “Much appreciation goes to Akins Arena at Classic Center, Penny Mitchell (GHSA Dance rep), GHSA staff, Rebel Athletic, TeamIP, NFHS Network, BPI Photography, sponsors, volunteers, judges, dancers, coaches and fans.”

Supporters can order state championship merchandise as well as digital downloads of performances and action photos through designated vendors.
