County of Twiggs issued the following announcement on June 1. 

Notice to Voters in Twiggs County, Georgia Of Intent to Process Absentee Ballots Prior to the Closing of the Polls For the June 21, 2022 General Primary/Nonpartisan/Special Election Runoff

Pursuant to O.C.G.A. 21-2-386(a)(1)(G)(2)(A) and State Election Board Rule 183-1-14-0.9-.15 you are hereby notified that it is the intent of the Twiggs County Board of Elections to begin processing paper absentee ballots cast during the June 21,2022 General Primary/Nonpartisan/Special Election Runoff at the Twiggs County Board of Elections located at 425 Railroad St. North, Jeffersonville, Ga. 31044

  • June 20, 2022 (10:00 AM – until completed on or before 5pm)
  • June 21, 2022 (9:00 AM, Tuesday-Election Day – until completed)

The early processing of absentee ballots before the closing of the polls shall be a controlled process to maintain the secrecy of all ballots and to protect against the collection or disclosure of any balloting information before the close of the polls at 7:00 PM on Election Day.
