County of Monroe issued the following announcement on Jan. 28. 

Citizens who vote at the Brantleys voting precinct (Smarr) will be relocated to an alternate location during the 2022 election cycle due to a fire last year that destroyed the typical polling place.

Rather than voting at the Smarr Fire Station at 50 Evans Road, citizens within the Brantleys voting precinct will be voting this year at the nearby Mount Zion United Methodist Church at 40 Rumble Road, Forsyth, GA 31029.

This year’s General Election Primary will be held on Tuesday, May 24. The voter registration deadline for the General Election Primary is Monday, April 25. This year’s General Election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 8. The voter registration deadline for the General Election is Tuesday, Oct. 11.
