COUNTY OF BIBB: Loads of linens donated to Brookdale Resource Center

County of Bibb issued the following announcement on Nov. 12.

This week, Commissioners Bill Howell and Raymond Wilder made a special and warm delivery to the Brookdale Resource Center. The Macon-Bibb Fire Department helped the commissioners unload a truck full of linens.

“Thanks to the folks in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee who manage cabins up there and are always willing to donate more sheets and towels,” said District 7 Commissioner Howell. “I reached out to the folks who donate this stuff and what they described was about a pick-up truck load, but when I got there, it was more like a box truck load. So, we’ll be back there later to get more.”

The Brookdale Resource is always looking for donations.

“Sheets and towels are always needed, especially since we don’t have a laundry facility at the moment,” said Brookdale Resource Center Director Alison Bender. “We are so thankful this donation.”

Right now, the Center needs coats in all sizes (especially for children), belts for men and women, and underwear in all sizes. If you would like to donate or volunteer, click here.
