The Georgia High School Association has recognized National Athletic Training Month this March. The association thanked athletic trainers for their dedication to student-athlete care across all sports.

The Georgia High School Association has named the winners of the 2026 Literary State Championships. Schools including Buford and Stilwell Arts were among those recognized for their achievements.

These ex-Greater Macon area high school standouts will participate in competitions on Tuesday, March 24.

Seven schools earned their first-ever basketball state titles at the recent GHSA championships held in Macon. The event featured multiple team winners across divisions and individual contest victors. Organizers thanked participants and supporters for a successful Championship Week.

Kate Harpring from Marist School has been named Georgia’s top girls basketball player by Gatorade for 2025-26. The award recognizes excellence in athletics, academics, and community service.

North Gwinnett secured first place at the GHSA Riflery State Championship held on March 14. Briana Dougherty of Camden County earned top individual honors at the event hosted by Ware County Shooting Complex.

These former Greater Macon area high school standouts are scheduled to compete the week starting Monday, March 23.
