Arrest Made in Connection with Gordon Street Death

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office investigators, with the assistance of patrol deputies, have made an arrest in the fatal shooting of 29-year-old Demonta Steve Clyde.

Investigators identified 20-year-old Keondre Jonquez Clyde as a suspect in connection with Demonta’s death and had a warrant issued for his arrest. Patrol deputies located Keondre inside of a home on Bailey Ave, just before 11:00p.m, Saturday night and took him into custody.

Keondre is currently being held in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, without bond, for the charge of Murder.

Death Investigation on Gordon StreetThe Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death that occurred in the 2900 block of Gordon Street just after 8:00p.m. Saturday.

Deputies responded to Gordon Street in reference to a person shot. Upon arrival deputies found 29-year-old Demonta Steve Clyde inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound. Clyde was pronounced deceased on the scene by Deputy Coroner Luanne Stone. The next of kin has been notified. Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators are still determining what lead up to the shooting. Further details will be released once information becomes available.
